Eileen Robert’s bungalow “Mertyne” in School Street has long been surrounded by a beautiful garden, open to the front for all to admire and enclosed to the rear against the backdrop of St James’ Church.

Twice the winner of the village’s “Front Garden Award”, the garden has also featured in the Japanese Magazine “Enjoy Gardening” as a “typical English garden”.

For eighteen years Eileen has been a stalwart of Sulgrave with Culworth Women’s Institute and in December last a beautifully illustrated article featuring the garden appeared in “WI Life”, the National Magazine of the Women’s Institute.
