W.I. MEMBERS VISIT ROCKINGHAM FOREST
(Home)

Ann Mackness writes:

At 8am last Sunday three members of our WI (and one husband!) drove the 52 miles north east to just beyond picturesque Oundle where we enjoyed a 4 mile sun dappled stroll through Short Wood which is said to be the finest bluebell wood in the county. The warden and local members of the Wildlife Trust were on hand to answer questions about the wood and its management, and Glapthorn WI provided tea and delicious cakes at the village hall. Our journey home in the evening sun, through Haselbech, Cottesbrooke Park and Ravensthorpe, displayed Northamptonshire's rich and varied landscape at its very best.
