CHURCH OF ST JAMES THE LESS, SULGRAVE
CHRISTINGLE SERVICE
(Home)

This year's Christingle Service will be held
on Sunday December 6th, at 3pm.

The idea came originally from the Moravian Church in 1747 as a symbol of Christ’s light and love. The Children’s Society introduced it to the Church of England in 1968, and it has since become a popular service for all ages.

In our parish, this year will be our 19th celebration. We can expect a full church, some rousing singing, a short play, with the congregation providing the sound effects, and the distribution of decorated oranges, topped with candles, which are carefully lit when everyone is quietly standing still.

All money collected goes to the good work of the Children’s Society with the least fortunate of today’s young people.

Do come and join us – you will be most welcome!

Refreshments provided after the service.
